ready to see what i purchased so far?!
if you can't see the video CLICK HERE.
in the video i said i've never worn men's t-shirts as street clothes; that's not true. i own a few men's graphic tees. what i should've said is i've never worn men's undershirts as street clothes because that's exactly what these are.
after trying them on, i had to go back and upsize from small to medium.
these t-shirts are so soft and comfortable! they're a bit long, but i like mine that way and the v-neck isn't cut low at all. when i referred to my "old way" of buying white tees, i was talking about me going to Forever 21 and picking up two at a time for about $5.99 each. it's official. i won't be doing that anymore. the quality of these shirts are so much better. we'll see how they hold up/keep their shape when washed.
as promised, i'll have a separate post dedicated solely to how i found about the shoe sale at Target.
warning: said post may be my first public bitching session in regards to fashion blogging and influence.
Love the flats! Funny, I just got purple jeans from Target on clearance for $8.84!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried men's white T's, I'm going to try that.
I could try to do the keep the change challenge. Let me sleep on it and I'll let you know!
I was jamming.....
ReplyDelete20 dollars a month that's more than I have spent this entire yr on me so you can do it. Target shoes can't fit me I have wide feet so I have to get expensive shoes or my feet will not like me. I wear mens shirt all the time my hubs has 5 drawers of t-shirts I never buy any because I can pick one of his to wear.
LOL! i was so glad The Girl found an edited version to add to the video. i shared my own wide-feet issues in this video, but it was edited out (for the sake of time and rambling). i know exactly what you're talking about! these shoes have that stretchy trim around them so they'll "give" a little bit on my feet. i've gotten to the point where i can wear less expensive play shoes, but my good shoes are investments and i pay more for those.
DeleteLove the flats and the thrift shop song lol. Somehow i haven't bought anything new for myself in a long while so I guess I am doing okay :) I love the purple flats, I somehow never look in target for shoes--I am always in the baby section, i graze over the home section then I go home. I need to explore target!
ReplyDeleteDonna, this is a very interesting & mind boggling challenge to me. I cut back in a lot of areas because I like shopping for myself. I could do this I suppose, but I don't have any desire currently. Shopping is another hobby of mine. It does make me challenge my thoughts on spending. Maybe I should have read this yesterday, before I stopped by the mall ;) I did like the purple flats though. Are you going to decorate those T-shirts or are rocking white tees with class:)
ReplyDeleteif you don't have the desire to do it, then it's simply not for you. and there's nothing wrong with that. naw...no decorating of the tees - just white...with accessories!
DeleteI'm taking a trip to Target today... hoping I can find something nice on sale!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to only spend $35/month but I'm not sure it's going to work out. I have wide feet, too, and finding shoes is hard. Payless just hurt my feet so much!
you can do it, girl. send me a tweet if you feel yourself getting weak!
DeleteCute little flats!
ReplyDeleteThose purple shoes are the business. HAWT!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Love the shoes, purple is really in, I have been seeing a lot of it! Even the tee's are a steal especially if they are of the good quality, b/c a lot of them stretch around the neck if they are cheap.

Hi Donna.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to save up for my trip so I am going a strict budget now too. Not sure if I can do $20 a month though. I am going to have to pull a few more stunts like the one I pulled yesterday... "Hey Mom you want to go with me to the mall....? Hey Mom, I forgot my debit card, can you pay for this for me?.... Hey Mom, don't you want to buy your daughter this denim jacket that I totally don't need?" YES, this actually happened yesterday.. I got a juicer a denim jacket and a new dress (I paid for that one myself). BTW, l I heard you can save an additional 5% off of your purchases at Target if you use your own bag at the checkout and additional 5% if you use their debit card (RedCARD).
NATASHA - do you know it was on my radar to research and write about Target's RedCARD?!! on one of my trips a checker gave me the scoop. since i always pay cash (via debit), that's a great rewards program.
Deletei totally understand that $20/month won't work for everyone, but do what you can. LOL!! those are the same stunts i pull when my sister comes to town!
I really need to do this! I'm addicted to this one shirt from Anthropologie, and they keep coming out with new patterns for it. I think I have a problem.
ReplyDeleteO.... You have definitely inspired me. As for March, I have already spent way too much on myself and should not buy anything more. Will definitely set a budget for myself come April.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

it's never too late to start, Adriana. just establish a realistic spending amount so you won't set yourself up for failure. i'm here for ya!
DeleteI can't wait for the one on fashion blogging and influence! You're such a good influence on me, girl.
ReplyDeleteI saw those flats and was gonna buy them for my youngest but couldn't find her size. I think I could do $20 a month because some months I don't do anything shopping at all. I may try it on my next shopping trip.
